Howard has extensive leadership experience in the maritime sector. After serving as Master on sea-going ships, he worked in a variety of UK port and shipping interests becoming harbour master and chief coastguard, and former head of maritime affairs and registrar of British Ships for the island jurisdiction of Jersey.
